Professional background

I studied both chemistry and psychology and have been fortunate to be able to work in both fields, the former in higher education at the University of Pretoria and the latter as a counselling psychologist in private practice. When I was in the employ of the University of Pretoria, I worked as senior lecturer in the five year program of the engineering faculty (EBIT) coordinating and teaching the augmented chemistry course. Together with my wife, Salome Human-Vogel, we conducted research with the focus on academic commitment and engineering identity.
